La forma de la espada

En nuestra clase de lengua nos pidiero que respondieramos las dos actividades.

1)”La cruzaba la cara una cicatriz rencorosa:un arco ceniciento y casi perfecto que de un lado ajaba la sien y la del otro el pomulo”image

2)El ingles hace mucho tiempo estaba casado con una joven dos años menor que el. Una noche decidieron ir a comer y al volver se encontraron caminando los dos solos por la calle y cuando estaban caminando cinco hombres los rodearon.uno tenia un cuchillo y los otro cuatro un arma .El hombr e del cuchillo en un intento de atacar a la joven violentamente el ingles la defendio, y ese momento le corta la cara dejandole una cicatriz.Despues de esto quedo inconciente en el piso y no pudo defenderla. Fue el unico que sobrevivio ya que los hombres pensaron que estaba muerto.Esta fue la historia que le conto y logro convencerlo para que le vendiera el campo.

 

 

Manchurian Crisis

In our History class we had to answer questions from this video.

  • How does the video open? What might the connection between the League and the opening scenes in Poland be?

The video opens showing in which conditions was poland at the beginning of the second world war.It also reflects the failures of the League of nations because they couldn’t control the situation and poland was destroyed.

  • What problems did Japan face? (Mention ALL of them)

The problems they suffered were that the population was booming , they couldn’t maintain all the amount of people, also they were an isolated country so they had to open with other countries to start doing trade as they didn’t have natural materials to explote. This also caused unemployment.

  • What was the role of the army in Japan?

The army was very powerful and controlled the education.

  • What did army leaders believe Japan needed?

The army leaders of Japan believed they needed more lands and territories, in this way they would have more natural materials and power. Also they thought they had to expand to the east.

  • What was the value of Manchuria?

Manchuria was very valuable because they had natural materials, that Japan needed and also they would gain lands and this would cause a lot of jobs.

  • What happened at Mudken?

They exploted  a railway that belonged to Japan.

  • What did the League do about it?

The League decided Japan should leave Manchuria. They took a hole year to make this decision.

  • What was Japan’s reaction to the decision of the League?

Japan left the Leauge of Nations and they stayed in Manchuria.

 

Characteristics of living organisms

In our Biology class we learned the characteristics of living things.

In the first picture we can see a characteristic of living things:

Nutrition:Taking in nutrients which are organic substances and mineral ions, containing raw materials and energy for growth and tissue repair, absorbing and assimilating them.

and in the second picture we can see two characteristics:

Growth: which is the permanent increase in size and dry mass by an increase in number of cells, cell size, or both.

Reproduction:Progresses that make more of the same kind of organism.

Other characteristics that are not in the pictures are :

Excretion:Removal from organisms of toxic materials, the waste products of metabolism and substances in excess.

Sensitivity, the ability to detect and response.

Movement:An action by an organism or part of an organism that changes position or place.

Respiration:Chemical reactions that break down nutrient molecules in living cells to release energy.

“A Birthday”

In our literature class we read the poem “A Birthday”.Here is a video of the poem.

a)What is the theme?

The theme of “a birthday” is related with love and nature.

b)What is the tone?

The tone is related with calm, happines and joyful.

c) What is the main difference between the two stanzas?

The main difference between the two stanzas are that the first one the author is relating what she feels with nature and the second one is related with material objects.

d)How are the similes in the poem appropriate for the romantic longings the speaker feels?

The author express how happy and thanked she is because of all the love she is feeling.

e)How is the metaphor of the birthday appropriate?

the metaphor of the birthday is appropriate because she feels she is starting her life again and everything is new and  is experiencing the best feeling that is love .

f)Make a list of religious symbols. What do they mean in the poem?

the birds: Represents peace and how calm she is in that moment.

rainbow:symbolizes God´s promisses.

Trabajo practico físico quimica (inti)

Nuestra profesora de fisico química nos pidio que elijamos un articulo de inti y hagamos un resumen, el mio es de las carnes bovinas con alto contenido de ácido linoleico conjugado.

El centro de investigación y tecnologia industrial de carnes del Inti junto con la asociación Argentina de angus trabajaron en el contenido de acido linoleico conjugado en carnes bovinas de la raza angus y compararon el porcentaje de CLA de las carnes.

Los resultados fueron que los animales Angus alimentados en pastoreo tienen mayor CLA que los animales alimentados en feedlot. El CLA contiene propiedades beneficiosas para la salud.

En la actualidad, nuestro país,mas del 76% del ganado ha sido alimentado en pastoreo.Lo cual trae un gran beneficio.

El centro Inti carnes presento junto a la asociación Argentina de Angus las conculiciones de la primera etapa en el congreso PGG Wrightson World Angus Forum en 2013.

 

Classification of living organisms

Our teacher Magdalena Ravagnan gave us a task. We had to work on the different living organisms. I worked Agostina Alday and Catalina Rela.

1) Construct a table to compare the characteristic features of animals, plants, fungi, protoctists and prokaryotes: number of cells, differences in the cell structure, nutrition. You can upload the activity as a PDF file on your blog.

2) Create an infographic showing the external features only of the following animals. Make it visual,  so choose any animal which represents the class. For e.g. from the class reptiles, snake.

History source work

In the History class with Lenny, we were assigned different sources to analyze in groups. I worked with Mara, Lucia, Luli and Juan. Our sources were about the negative of the League of Nations in the 1920s.

This is a Primary Source because it is a photo taken of a sign at the 1920s where immigrants were restricted.

This source deals with the issue of prejudice and intolerance. It shows that if you aren’t white you are not going to be serve. If you want to be served you had to be white. This is a racist message. It shows how black people and immigrants were treated in those years. By the time slavery was ended, in the US there were more black people than white.

The message of this source is how hard people faced intolerance and racism towards immigrants and black people. In this case Spanish and Mexicans were left apart. Those who weren’t white or Americans suffered discrimination. In 1924 the American government restricted immigration.

This source is primary because the photo was taken in the time the event was happening and the author was a witness of the event.

In this photo you can see a police officer doing a surprise check on a Lunch Room to see if they had stored any alcoholic beverages, which after the prohibition law was passed was illegal.

The message behind this picture is that at the time police officers had to check constantly on the people in USA since they were desperate enough to break the law.It also shows the way they had to do it.The prohibition was negative because it increased the sales of drinks, the number of gangsters and illegal activities, and of deaths. This was because the banning of drinks made people more violent and critical to drink. Although in this picture the officers are doing their job honourably and correctly, there were lots of corrupt cops.You can see a lot of photos about prohibition since it was a very important and controversial part of the 1920s in the USA.

This is a primary source; it`s a photo of people protesting about what happened to Sacco and Vanzetti. They two were victims of the red scare, which took place in USA in the 1920s. They were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and murder. The trial became more about them being anarchists than of a murder, and six years later they were executed. This is a clear example of what was going on in the USA, the intolerance they had, how close-minded they were, the prejudice and the way they treated people who thought different. People noticed this, and realized that this was wrong and so, they supported Sacco and Vanzetti, they were on their side, and so they protested.

Escritura pautada

En la clase de lengua, la profesora nos pidió que escribieramos un cuento a partit de algunos datos propuestos por otros compañeros.

Lugar:Japon

Objeto perdido:globo

Personaje: el amorongo

Frase de este personaje: color esperanza

Todo empezo en Japon en el siglo 17. Fue uno de los casos mas conocidos . El globo mas grande del mundo fue creado por el amorongo. El amorongo era un chico de 15 años y por esta creación fue el chico mas conocido.

Amorongo estaba enamorado de una chica tres años mas grande que el. Todos los días se esforsaba para llamarle la atención y poder hablar con ella. Despues de varios intentos que no funcionaran amorongo estaba muy preocupado y no sabia que mas podia hacer y hasta la canto la canción color esperanza.

Sin embargo, los días pasaron y amorongo no lograba hablar con la chica. Entonces fue en ese momento que decidio hacer algo que nunca nadie antes habia hecho y decidio crear un globa gigante.

Despues de varios días de trabajo y esfuerzo logro hacer el globo pero antes de poder regalrselo, el globo se le voló cuando el no lo estaba cuidando y por todo Japon empezó a buscarlo. Recorrio todas las calles pegando carteles y pidiendo ayuda.Cuando finalmente lo encontro, no pudo evitar salir en todos los programas de televisón y fue cuando le declaro su amor a la chica.

Despues de esto,amorongo se hizo tan conocido que finalmente logro hablar con la chica .
